Frequently asked questions
We aim to make the enrolment journey as smooth and welcoming as possible for families. Whether you're ready to begin or just have questions, our team is here to support you every step of the way.
To start, simply fill out our online enquiry form or reach out to our Coordination Team. Once we’ve confirmed availability you’ll be guided through the next steps of the enrolment process.
What’s involved:
- Complete your child’s Enrolment Record– This helps us get to know your child and their individual needs right from the beginning.
- Provide current immunisation details– We require up-to-date records in line with national health and safety guidelines.
- Share your CRN (Centrelink Customer Reference Number)– If you plan to apply for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), we’ll need the CRN for the parent or guardian linked with Centrelink.
- Accept your official Enrolment Confirmation– This formalises your child’s place at Beyond the Burrow.
- Approve the CCS enrolment through your MyGov account– This step ensures that any eligible fee assistance is applied correctly.
Once everything is complete and confirmed by our Team your child will be ready to begin their Beyond the Burrow journey.

Care through Beyond the Burrow is eligible for the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy.
Individual Child Care Subsidy Assessment queries should be directed to Family Assistance Office on 13 61 50.
Child Care Subsidy: Assistance to help you with the cost of childcare.
Please note educators do not have access to the government side (CCS) and this is the responsibility of the parent or guardian. CCS is an agreement between Parents and the Government of Australia.
Families must meet eligibility criteria to receive CCS.
The amount of CCS a family can get depends on their circumstances.
Services Australia looks at:
• a family’s income
• how many children a family has in care
• the age of the children in care
• a family’s activity level
• immunisation requirements
CCS is paid directly to your childcare provider to reduce the out-of-pocket fees parents pay.

At Beyond the Burrow, we understand that absences from care are sometimes unavoidable. Families are required to pay the full fee for any days their child is absent, including for illness, holidays, and public holidays.
Where eligible, the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) may be applied to up to 42 absence days per child, per financial year—this includes public holidays.
Please note:
- CCS cannot be claimed for absences that occur on a child’s first or last day of care.
- Once the 42 allowable absence days have been used, additional absences may still be covered by CCS if certain criteria are met (e.g., illness with a medical certificate).
At Beyond the Burrow, we are committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of all children, families, and educators in our community. In accordance with both national and state guidelines, we are required to maintain accurate records of each child’s immunisation status.
To be eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), children must meet immunisation requirements under the National Immunisation Program (NIP). These vaccinations must be recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). Children with a valid medical exemption or natural immunity for specific conditions may also be eligible.
Families who choose not to immunise, or who do not provide up-to-date immunisation documentation, are still able to enrol and attend Beyond the Burrow—however, they will not be eligible for the CCS and will be charged full fees for care.
Additionally, in accordance with public health guidelines, any child who is not fully immunised may be excluded from care during an outbreak of a vaccine-preventable disease or a notifiable illness.
At Beyond the Burrow, we are committed to ensuring that every Educator in our network upholds the highest standards of care, professionalism, and integrity. Our recruitment and onboarding process is designed to support Educators to thrive in their role and align with our values of nurturing, play-based, and responsive education.
All Educators must successfully complete Beyond the Burrow’s recruitment and selection process, followed by a comprehensive induction and training program. Ongoing compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law, National Regulations, and our Service Policies and Procedures is essential at all times.
Regulatory Ratios:
Under the Education and Care Services National Regulations, each Educator may provide care for up to 7 children under 13 years, with a maximum of 4 children under school age at any one time. The Educator’s own children are included in this ratio.
To be approved as a Beyond the Burrow Educator, individuals must:
Hold (or be actively working toward) an approved Early Childhood Qualification;
Maintain current First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis management training;
Hold a valid Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Check;
Hold appropriate Public Liability Insurance for their Family Day Care business.
Additional Requirements:
Any household members over 18 years of age and regular visitors to the Educator’s home must also hold a current WWVP Check to ensure the safety of all children in care.
Educators are also expected to engage in ongoing professional learning and development, keeping their practice current, reflective, and responsive to the needs of the children and families they support.
The Early Years Framework is a framework used nationwide. At Beyond the Burrow Family Daycare we have incorporated the EYLF into our philosophy and program. Our program supports learning through play, combined with planned experiences and observations of your child.
Along with this each child has their own daycare portfolio via StoryPark, which consists of observations, individual program plans, and information collected through out your child’s journey with Beyond the Burrow Family Daycare.
Change of Clothing: We sometimes have messy play, toileting accidents or just go jump in the odd puddle, so a change of clothes is essential. The weather may change during the day so please pack for hot and cold days.
Hat for outdoor play: Please ensure children bring a wide-brim hat. We provide sun cream for the children but if your child requires a specific sun cream due to reactions, parents will need to supply their own.
Comfortable shoes: Weather permitting, we like to play outside a lot so comfortable shoes for running, and gumboots for playing in the garden are ideal.
Meals: Please provide morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea as required. I can reheat food if required. Please keep lollies and treats for home and only provide water or milk for drinking.
Nappies (if applicable): Please provide sufficient for the day, we do supply spares at additional cost.
Bottles: Please ensure bottles are measured up prior to care
Toys: Please limit the toys from home, as we cannot accept responsibility for lost/damaged toys. A favourite teddy for sleeptime is fine.
Medication: Chemist labels are required for all medication, Asthma puffers, and EpiPen’s. Please ensure this is handed to an educator and not left in your child’s bag and your child will require an up-to-date action plan, Medical Condition Risk Minimisation and Communication Plan. Please note we do not administer Panadol and will only administer the end of an antibiotic cycle.
