The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a government initiative that helps reduce the cost of care for eligible families.
The Commonwealth Government pays the subsidy directly to Beyond the Burrow on your behalf, and the reduced fee is applied to your account.
Understanding the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) helps make early learning more accessible by reducing out-of-pocket costs for families. The amount of CCS your family receives is determined by the Australian Government and is based on:
- Your family’s income
- The type of approved care you use and your child’s age
- The hours of recognised activity (such as work, study, or volunteering) that you and your partner do
We recommend beginning the CCS application process through Centrelink before enrolling with Beyond the Burrow to ensure a smooth transition into care.
How to Apply
To claim CCS, you’ll need:
- A myGov account linked to Centrelink
- To follow the step-by-step CCS application on the Services Australia website
Once approved, the subsidy is paid directly to Beyond the Burrow and applied as a fee reduction to your account.
Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS)
The Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) is part of the government’s Child Care Safety Net. It provides extra financial support to families who need it most, ensuring all children—regardless of circumstance—have access to quality early learning.
There are four types of ACCS:
- ACCS (Child Wellbeing): For families needing support to ensure a child’s safety or wellbeing.
- ACCS (Grandparent): For grandparents who are the primary carers of their grandchildren.
- ACCS (Temporary Financial Hardship): For families experiencing short-term financial difficulties.
- ACCS (Transition to Work): For families moving from income support into the workforce.
ACCS is a top-up payment on top of CCS and, in most cases (except 'Transition to Work'), it can cover the full cost of care.
